Fake Problems & the Swellers last night. Awesome awesome show. Talked to Scott & Ian (haven't seen him in YEARS) for a bit after the show. So happy that I've found a friend that doesn't mind going to shows with me since Andy's out of commission for a bit (though I'd still rather go with you, I promise!! .

Saw the Decemberists last weekend. There was a HUGE crowd because Colin Meloy went to University of MT. Got really drunk cause it was at a brewery. The opening band was called Typhoon and while I only made it in time to see a couple songs, they seem really cool.
August brings me BTMI with the Sidekicks, and Nothington with the Cobra Skulls. Yay!

^like!
i went to warped again yesterday and saw the menzingers, big d, moving mountains, against me, bad rabbits, larry and his flask, the wonder years, paramore, and terrible things
realized i had already seen all those bands at least once, but warped can never be topped as far as seeing that many good bands in a day

The Mixtapes/Direct Hit show was off the chain. Getting to hang out with Mixtapes always makes me happy.

this summer has been great to me. i saw the Menzingers in june (along with Title Fight, Touche Amore and some other shit bands), which was great. i went to see Sir Paul McCartney a few weeks ago too. my favorite beatle in concert? i was such a happy kid! i'm seeing the Honda Civic tour next week. I honestly can't decided which band I'm more excited about, Blink? MCR? Manchester Orchestra? Ah, I'm so excited. Oh and I've already got my ticket for Frank Turner's stop in Montreal in October. He's going to be with the Sleeping Souls, and I am ridiculously stoked for this show.

Possibly taking Todd to see Motion City Soundtrack for his birthday in September. I can only afford tix for one of the two days so if we go, it'll be the first day since they're playing I Am the Movie & Commit This to Memory.
I'd really like to hear My Dinosaur Life live but I hate Even If It Kills Me so I'm not paying that kind of money just for one album.

Jon, I'm always so jealous of how many shows you go to. I wish I wasn't so poor/more bands crossed the border.

I went to btmi!/the sidekicks/the taxpayers/the big sleep last night.
Shit, the taxpayers put on the most fun and probably the best set I've ever been to. There were giant inflatable sharks and penguins, a video game character crowd surfing, synchronized dancing, and the set ending with a cover of silver and gold. I wish I could see them every night because I left with the biggest smile on my face.
(oh, and btmi's set was rad too! They ended with my fav song and a buddy holly cover featuring the taxpayers)

^i want to see the taxpayers, but our show gets the sidekicks and joyce manor. so im okay with that.
thrice was incredible the other night, played five songs off their new album which were brilliant in case you needed to know that
oh! and i saw heartsounds and the story so far with megan and one of our very own coloradoians, kelly. it was super cool. laura from heartsounds and I are getting married. the bassist from TSSF fell in the crowd and landed on his head/neck and blacked out but then got up and played the last two songs sitting down before going to the hospital. respect.

After 12 years of waiting, I FINALLY saw Alkaline Trio last weekend (mewithoutyou and River City Extension opened). I've loved Alkaline Trio since I was 17, but any time they were anywhere near here, I was out of town, or completely unable to go. I finally saw them, and it was awesome! What made it even cooler, was that I got to take my niece to her first concert. It was great.
