Baha. I wasn't home and didn't have my laptop for a few days and I have no desire to buy the ProBoards phone app. But...yes. I'm very happy about it. It's been a hell of a season, that's for sure. Mets history has been made and some real potential has come out of so many rookies. I'm loving it. Now, I just need to Nats and the Marlins to choke in the next few games.

I GOT A NO-HITTER. I GOT A NO-HITTER. It only took 50 years BUT I GOT A NO-HITTER. JOHAN SANTANA BANANA, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! then one week later, millwood and five other pitchers no-hit the dodgers. 10th time in major league history. rarer than a no-hitter or a perfect game.

And far less impressive.
Crazy... the Mariners have had a 20 run game, and a historic, monumental 6 man no hitter. Yet, they're still last in their division by a 10 game margin. How the hell can you talk about how these achievements are better than actual first place teams.
Want to see a real pitching performance? Google Matt Cain. 1 man. 14 k's. Perfect game. He didn't need 5 other guys to pitch 1 inning at a time.

A sweep after being swept feels so good. Bay finally got a decent hit (a home run, nonetheless!), Two HRs from Niewy, and Ike is looking up! However, I am WAY bummed Dickey didn't get his no-hitter last night. And I really hate to say it...but friggin' Wright blew it. MY FUTURE HUSBAND. Gah. If the Mets actually do challenge the league to overturn that one run into an error on Wright's part (and he'll take the hit for it), I'm not so sure they'll get it. But alas....R.A. is still the winningest pitcher in the NL. I think I win alone on that.

And just as I expected, the Mets' appeal was denied. R.A. even said, though, that he'd feel that getting his no-hitter by way of appealing a bad play would be kind of a cheap shot (says so right here), and if I were him, I'd feel the same way, regardless of a bad play or a bad pitch. Again, though, more wins than any other NL pitcher, and this is his second career one-hitter. Not too bad, if you ask me.

still, though, would've been cool to have a no-hitter and a one-hitter instead of two one-hitters.

I had a feeling it would stand, as did the Mets. But speaking of the Mets...
I gotta be pumped for my Reds right now. Just beat up on the Mets, who may have been the hottest team in baseball coming into last night. Now we just need to win this series and go back and beat up on the 'Windians' again.
The 'Windians' thing was sarcasm. That might be the lamest nickname in sports.

Oh yes. I thought about you when I was at work and kept checking the score between the 7th and 9th innings and was like WHAT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. We'll see how we do tonight.
Also, Mr. Jason Bay, once again, destroying his body on the field. He's been put on the 7-day DL after slamming his head into the wall in left field. If you haven't seen that video, watch it and cringe just as I did. I definitely admire the man for being a true athlete and going all out in everything, but I think after last night, he's gonna have to reconsider how far "all out" will be for him in the future.

See, it sounded funny in my head when I posted that and was hoping someone would get it. But that was probably just the sleep deprivation taking control of the wheel.
