Why aren't we talking about this?!? I know it has to do with us being more social now than anything, but music is what brought us together. And everyone likes Gaslight.
45 is pretty awesome, so I'm all sorts of stoked for the rest of the album.

How can I not post in this thread? I can't remember the last time i was this excited for an album. I've listened to "45" about a million times and it feels like they're returning to a more 59 soundish vibe. Or at least away from American Slang, which is my least favorite release of theirs. Now to wait on Kirstin and Katie to squeal in this thread.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not enough exclamation marks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just spent $61.50 to see these guys open for Rise Against at a shitty arena... FUCK YEAH, I'M STOKED. i am in love with 45"... it's everything I wanted. I'm excited to hear the rest of the album - especially Biloxi Parish which I've heard from live shows.

Also, it was pretty cool how I was answered on twitter AND thanks to Brian, I now know how to pronounce Dave Hause's last name. I would have kept wondering if no one ever told me.

Also, it was pretty cool how I was answered on twitter AND thanks to Brian, I now know how to pronounce Dave Hause's last name. I would have kept wondering if no one ever told me. If you ever forget how to pronounce Dave Hause's last name just think of hausome. As in Hause + awesome because that's what he is. Hausome. I tried for 2 years or something to make him care about that name and when he finally did he probably forgot after 5 mins. STILL LOVE HIM THOUGH. WANT MOAR LOVED ONES SOME DAY. As for Handwritten, I listened to it the other day and I was kinda bummed about it because I honestly do enjoy the Gaslight Anthem. You can check my Last.FM charts if you don't believe me. I just didn't feel anything with this album. "45" grew on me a little but the rest of the album is so boring. I think it's because I want a reincarnation of Sink or Swim or the Senor and the Queen EP. That album and that EP are so flawless in my eyes that I've probably set up unrealistic expectations for Gaslight. It makes me sad. I think I ruined Gaslight for me.

I'm torn. I do like it, but I feel like I was let down after 45 was really up tempo. On the other hand, it's still growing on me, so we'll see.

I think I liked American Slang more than most people. My favorite Gaslight song is on that album.
Handwritten is good, but I do feel like it's lacking something. I always figure if I give it a few more listens, it'll grow on me more, and right now, it's sitting at about a 6.8 outta 10.

Mid tempo Seeger worship is mid tempo.
I think I've had too many Gaslight releases in too short a time or something... it's a well made album but I don't feel the need to listen to it again.
Also I feel that you all would like Arliss Nancy because they are mining the same sort of oldies rock with punk thing that Gaslight are doing, but I like em a bit more this moment. Nicole might agree with me... maybe.

i can understand why people aren't feeling handwritten as much as some of gaslight's other releases, but this album kind of hit me like a ton of bricks, and i can't get it out of my head. i think it came out at just the right time for it to get to me, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Howl, 45, Biloxi Parish are all such great songs but I'm not sure they carry the album...
