I've already thrown in the towel on my Reds. 'Tis okay though because I know we're geared up for one hell of a run in the next few years (if our starters come around). I'm especially pumped about these 'Joey Votto to Toronto' rumors. He won the MVP in Cincy, but it would great to possibly have Jose Bautista in left field in Cincy. Really, the only Reds thing I'm pumped about it my Jay Bruce jersey for Christmas. Other than that, I've been starting to really pull for my AL team, the Detroit Tigers. Justin Verlander is a man beast and seeing Cleveland Indians fans disappointed makes my heart happy

^ I have not heard these rumours, nor do I think that would happen right after the Jays signed Joey Bats to a long-term deal. If anything, you'll be getting a couple utility players.
(watch me have to eat my words come November/December)

I guess there were small mumblings about it between Cincy and Toronto, but one of our top prospects we drafted as a first basemen. Then Votto won MVP and they were like, 'well, balls...'.
So they've been trying him in left and it's not going so hot. He's too slow, but his bat is real good. I guess Cincy's been looking for trade partners in case either Votto won't switch to left or they can't resign him long term. The offer I heard was Votto and a Reds prospect for Bautista. We'll see. I like it. We'd keep a good bat at 1st and have an MVP caliber player in left. Plus, Bautista would hit BOMBS in Great American Ballpark.

i went to two baseball games this last week! we lost the first one and won the second one. i also got pretty drunk at the second baseball game because we went with my bff's parents and her dad always buys us lots of delicious beer. i also (naturally) ate a lot of peanuts!

I'm fairly certain my boys have given up. They've fallen into fourth and just lose steam at the plate. The big hitters (Pagan, Wright, Turner) manage to get on base, and it's almost like the rest of the line up gets nervous and would rather take strike-outs.
It's discouraging. So long, play offs.
On the upside, in some alternate universe, I would be in Park City, hanging out with some friends while Wright is there for a weekend of skiing and we'd run into each other at a bar, fall hopelessly in love, and I'd marry the fuck out of him.

So the past two seasons, the Jays' motto has been "hustle and heart." But today, they decided to give away the heart of the team. John MacDonald and Aaron Hill were traded to the D-bags for Kelly Johnson. Albeit, MacDonald's a utility player and Hill hasn't been the same since his all-star season, but this isn't Alex Anthopoulos' first heartbreaking trade...
John, you very well might be right about the Bautista trade. I wouldn't be surprised at all now.

^ Especially with Yonder Alonso's big game tonight in Miami. A glimpse of the future. If the Reds can keep both, they can have such a high powered offense for a long, long time. We just have to see if we can resign Votto long term in the offseason. Resigning Votto and Brandon Phillips both will take lots and lots of American dollars... I don't know if they can do it.

^ Fuuuuuuuuuuuck yooooooooooooooooooou. C'mon, I'm just happy they went out with a win and Reyes with the NL batting title for the season. Besides, even if I did care about baseball season anymore, I wouldn't expect much out of the Braves. Speaking of Reyes, it's still up in the air as to what his plans are with his free agency. I really really really want to see him back with the Mets next season, but thanks to the club steadily losing money, I doubt he'll stick around. A huge bummer and I foresee being an overal morale-killer for the whole team. Of course, I'd be totally okay if Ryoto Igarashi walked the fuck away. I don't know why the Mets ever picked him up as even a relief pitcher. He sucks. Bad. And I hope he goes away before next season. Also, Michael.... HA!

Well, onward! My heart's with Arizona cuz they have Michelle's baseball boyfriend (Aaron Hill) and Johnny Mac now. That'd be sweet if they won. and this is what my local team's logo will look like next year... sweet!

Next season will be the Mets' 50th birthday! And they're throwing back. As far as I know, there will be no black jersey or caps during the season. I don't mind the black jerseys as much, but the caps...ugh. Just gross. Also other Mets news...Reyes' hasn't made any decisions what to do with his free agency yet. The suspense is killing me! Of course, I want the guy to stick around and be with the Mets for all of eternity. I just doubt it'll happen. Pridie up and left for Oakland. Evans is up for free agency as well. Evans was part of the "new blood" the Mets needed this past season and it sucks to see him go. We need more newbies to bring a fresh start of sorts for the upcoming season.

Those are nifty. This is my nifty item from the one and only Brandon Phillips... Pretty sure it's worn as well. It has dirt on it and a snag on the front. Is it weird to admit I smelled it...?
